I am a high school teacher. I have taken a break from teaching to stay home and
home-school my two oldest boys, Benjamin 15 and Samuel 13. In November of 2016, after many years of infertility and after CAS training for 2 years, my husband Eddie and I decided to foster in hopes of adopting. We got a one day old baby, named David and we have had him ever since. A few weeks after we took David home, I found out I was pregnant. In July of 2017, our little Gabriel was born. Then, in March of 2018, we officially adopted David. So, we now have two little guys toddling around…Gabriel 13 months and David 21 months. Life is busy, but so wonderful. I would LOVE to adopt again in the years to come.
I have been teaching and tutoring mathematics for the past 20 years. I LOVE math and I really enjoy teaching students how to do it.
I am very successful with my students. Many students come to me with marks between 10% and 50% on exams. After I work with them, they end up with marks in the 70’s and 80’s. I have also helped many students in the 80’s to get marks in the 90’s and 100% on their final exam.
I am very successful at tutoring because I can explain concepts in many different
ways, when necessary. I am able to work effectively with students with ADHD and
learning disabilities. I have had MANY students tell me I am the best teacher and
the best tutor they have ever had.
I am very effective at what I do because I care a lot about my students and their
lives. I am dedicated and I don’t just show up to a tutoring session to answer
questions. I make lessons up on the material and thoroughly teach my students all of the concepts they need to ace their exam(s).
My mathematics marks ranged from 99% in Calculus to 95% in third year Differential Equations (Calculus).
I received many awards, including the Mathematics Teaching Award at Althouse College, as well as the award for the highest overall average of all students at Althouse Teacher’s College. I received the Faculty Award for Academic Excellence two consecutive years at Brescia College for the highest average among all Brescia
students.
